PARADE RULES AND REGULATIONS:



We ask that all parade participants read through this document carefully in
order to allow for a safe, fun time for all!
ALL APPLICANTS
1. Entrants must observe all applicable rules and regulations and follow instructions from police and parade officials or be barred from the
parade. The Celebrate Aurora Parade Committee reserves the right to remove any entrant from the parade either prior to assembly, while
assembling or any time during the parade.
2. Vehicles will not be allowed in the parade unless pulling a float or providing transportation for pageant entrants. Excepts will be considered
for antique vehicles and other organized specialty car groups with prior approval.
3. NO MATERIALS MAY BE THROWN ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE. WALKERS ARE ALLOWED TO HAND MATERIALS TO
SPECTATORS. Our intent is to keep all spectators safely on the sidewalks, and out of the path of oncoming parade units or vehicles. SAFETY
FIRST!
4. Drivers of any and all vehicles in the parade areas must possess a valid driver’s license, be at least 18 years old, and possess all liability
vehicle insurance.
5. Livestock, reptiles, wild and domestic animals shall not be in the parade unless special written approval by the Celebrate
Aurora Parade Committee is obtained. If approval is granted, all horses must have someone to clean up, if necessary, along the parade
route.
6. Use high intensity sound making devices is strongly discouraged. Sound of any type must be approved by the Celebrate Aurora Parade
Committee and must be at a compatible sound level.
7. The Celebrate Aurora Committee, Inc. reserves the right t to remove from the parade any participants who are obviously intoxicated, possess
firearms, display offensive signs or materials, degrade any ethnic or religious group, or exhibit rude or discourteous conduct.
8. Evening Patriotic Parade entrants must be 16 years of age or older, or supervised by an adult. However, children of all ages are invited to
enter our Traditional Children's Parade on July 4th. Applicant ensures all minor children in their parade unit, entry or group will be adequately
supervised from parade line-up to completion.
9. Area dignitaries, inducting queens, politicians and mayors, as well as promotional and informational units, are welcome to participate in our
parade. No monetary compensation will be provided for these types of entrants.
10. Paid performing units and marching bands are not eligible for Parade prize money.
11. The Celebrate Aurora Parade Committee’s decision regarding all entries is final.
12. The Celebrate Aurora Parade Committee does not accept the responsibility for travel, food, or lodging expense of any unit.
13. The Celebrate Aurora Parade Committee reserves the right to accept or decline any entry.
FLOATS
1. Only vehicles pulling floats or providing transportation for pageant entries will be allowed in the parade. Exceptions will be considered for
antique vehicles and other organized specialty car groups with prior approval. Vehicles that are pulling floats should be incorporated as much
as possible into the float and decorated accordingly.
2. All floats must have handholds or standup holds for each rider on the float. Any self-propelled float must have a spotter beside the float, who
is in two-way communication (e.g. two-way radio) with the float driver.
3. No participants may jump on a float to ride and not interfere with any other unit in any way.
4. Float capacity will not be exceeded.
5. No participants will dismount from a float during the parade route. Participants will not have body parts, particularly legs and feet, extending
past the sides, front or rear of the float. This is an extreme safety hazard.

SIGN CARRIERS WANTED FOR CHILDRENS PARADE:
Children 7 years and up for Children’s Parade on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. Be at the parade lineup at 11:45 a.m. Each
sign carrier will receive $5.00. Call JILL at 218-260-3334 to sign up to be a sign carrier.

The 2018 Patriotic Parade is just around the corner and the Celebrate Aurora Committee would like to invite everyone to join the 3rd and 4th of July Celebration in downtown Aurora, MN. 

Continue the 4th of July celebration by attending the Children's Parade on Wednesday, July 4th on 2018. The parade starts at 12:30 pm, followed by Kid's Games as hosted by the Aurora Fire Department!

Greetings from the Celebrate Aurora Committee! Once again, the Aurora Patriotic Days celebration is
quickly approaching. We would like to invite your group, organization, and/or business to participate in
our Evening Patriotic Parade on
Tuesday, July 3rd at 5:30pm. Aurora's evening parade is a major highlight
of our annual celebration and your participation would be a welcomed addition to the festivities.


Parade lineup will begin at 4:15 PM. Please check in and pickup your lineup number from
our parade coordinators near Plagemann's Floral at the west end of Aurora. Our coordinators
will direct you to your appropriate category.
